What Intel Has on Offer - This September

Rumors of Intel's supposed launching of a new breed of processors built upon the new Nehalem microarchitecture in September are spreading across the blogosphere. Though at the time on this posting, I have no means to verify the authenticity of this claim...but Intel is sure set to publish them in the second half of 2009. This record will search for the known features of these upcoming chips and what we can expect of them when they are released.

The Nehalem microarchitecture on which these chips are based will be able to execute more tasks i.e do much more processing, while drawing less power. These chips fabricated for highend desktops and laptops, consist of quadcore desktop chips codenamed Lynnfield and quadcore laptop chips codenamed Clarksfield. These two chips will be man-made using the 45 nm fabrication process, and agreeing to Intel should be shipped before it's shift to the more sufficient 32 nm process later this year. Surrounded by the company's other offerings will be the celeron Su2300 and celeron 743, both of which are chips for ultrathin laptops.

Laptop Graphics Card

After being diminutive to in general expensive systems such as servers and highend gaming Pcs, this will be the first time Nehalem based chips wil be made available to the mainstream consumers. Integrating a memory controller into the Cpu, and providing a faster pipe for the processor to characterize with graphics cards; the new processors will also allow the performance of two software threads simultaneously for quicker application performance.

While the use of the 42nm manufacturing process means that the New Nehalem chips will be diminutive to the computers of higher priceband, affordably priced systems could see new processors when Intel switches to 32nm fabrication. The 32nm chips will feature prominently the integration of a graphics processor core and Cpu in one chip package. This will boost graphics and computing performances, while using much lesser power than the current chips, development these 32nm chips a product we can indubitably look forward to.
