Lenovo ThinkPad Sl410 - A retell of This Versatile Laptop

The first time we heard about the Lenovo ThinkPad Sl410 notebook, we heard only good things. And we are well aware that Lenovo and its ThinkPad series are very active competitors in the laptop industry. However, we all the time feel the urge to get our hands on the latest products and test them for ourselves. It is a whole other perceive to verily be able to test all things the maker says about its notebook. When it came to the Lenovo ThinkPad Sl410, we were happy we got the occasion to test this breathtaking laptop. It mesmerized us with its good looks and popular ,favorite design, not to mention the exemplary way it behaved in all of our tests. But sufficient chatter and more action! Let's see its scores!

We started our tests with the central processing unit, the most leading hardware component of the Lenovo ThinkPad Sl410. Although not the most marvelous in its class, the Intel Celeron T3100 processor works at a fair speed of 1.9 Ghz, has a front side bus of 800 Mhz, and an L2 cache of 1 Mb. It behaved very well in our tests and we began to wonder why. We later discovered that the Ram was greatly helping it. Nevertheless, we gave the processor a good score of 8 out of 10 points. Now, let's test the memory. 2 Gb of potent Ddr3 Pc3 8500 random passage memory (Ram) working at 1067 Mhz frequency pack one hell of a punch to Lenovo ThinkPad Sl410's competitors. We gladly give the Ram 10 out of 10 points.

Laptop Graphics Card

Next it was time to test the graphics processing unit (otherwise known as the Gpu). A good Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 4500 Mhd manages to yield quite clear and sharp graphics to the rather small 14 inch Hd display. The display uses the VibrantView technology to improve the image quality. However, we cannot give more than 8 points to both the video card and the graphics processing unit due to their below midpoint performances. Compared to other similar laptops, the Lenovo ThinkPad Sl410 is easy to beat at the video and display sections.

Another flaw in Lenovo ThinkPad Sl410's hardware is the small, 160 Gb hard disk drive. And not only is it small for the file sizes of today's media (Hd and Bluray), but it also works at a low speed of 5400 rotations per minute. This impacts the allinclusive agility of the laptop and slows it down noticeably. We are unable to give the Hdd more than 6 points out of a maximum of 10.
